Meet Patrick De Koster of Team 888poker
Hi, my name is Patrick de Koster. I am a Dutch poker player aged 25 from Leiden. I used to play tennis. I injured myself and started playing poker with my friends as a hobby four years ago. After a few games people noticed my talent and a new addiction was born!
Home games were huge during those days and after a few months casino games became popular as well.
As a tennis trainer it wasn't possible to play poker full time. But, after my knee-injury I started playing professional poker. Because I don't have obligations anymore, it is possible to play live poker tournaments of now, anywhere, anytime.
I started to play online poker two years ago at www.888.com.
Cash games are my most favorite, especially no limit hold-em. The stakes you can find me on are: 400NL, 600NL ,1000NL 6max.
Nowadays I also play heads up because I want to improve my game. Heads up is a game, to my opinion, where I can win a lot of money in the future.
What I like mostly about poker are the big live tournaments, because it is possible to win a big prize after just a few rounds. Up to today, live tournaments are going pretty well, with three final tables as best result.
Two years ago at Aviation Club, Paris, I ended in 2nd place. Last month in the Netherlands I played the Master Classics. At the side event I reached the final table. One week after this tournament, again a final table at LAPT Costa Rica.
Sadly, I haven't won a tournament yet, but because of the sponsorship with 888, I am confident to win a tournament soon. I am fortunate to get the opportunity to play as a member of team 888poker, which I am very thankful about.
