Meet Steve Day of Team 888VIP
Like most pokies, I started playing poker years ago with mates in home games and then moved on to playing online in low stakes games right at the beginning of the online poker craze. From there I quickly found my love of poker and progressed through the levels, learning the game and where my skills are best centered.
Although I like the quick cash games and the buzz of heads up, I found my passion as a no limit Texas Holdem tournament specialist, the appeal of taking down sizeable fields with big prize pots and the accolades that come with consistent high level tournament play was too big a lure for me to resist, and it really started for me there!
Before I knew it I was earning so much from poker online and was considering giving up a good career to play poker permanently. This was triggered not long after, when I won my first satellite for 0 to the WPT Shooting Stars in California, where I knocked out Erik Lindgren for his k bounty, plus went on to make the money positions and won a further k playing with the best in the business, needless to say I didn’t look back and gave up my 9-5 job and went on to win many satellites to live poker tournaments and making the money in 65% of the participating events, this combined with heavy online earnings including winning the big Sunday guaranteed tournament at another well known poker room was enough to catch me hook line and sinker! (Excuse the fish pun, but they are our friends after all)
I am looking forward to playing live again after a 2 year break and hope that Team888 in Prague & Australia will provide the platform to grow this concept and make for some great adventures for our players.
