Team 888poker Bracelet Winners at the WSOP 2011

The 42nd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) is well underway and already Team 888poker is making serious inroads into the bracelets tally. Both Tyler Bonkowski and Darren Woods have outgunned their competition to secure two coveted World Series of Poker bracelets.

Bonkowski clinched a hard-fought victory in Event #14: ,000 Limit Hold’em and Darren Woods held back the tide to claim the spoils of poker glory in Event #19: ,500 Limit Hold’em/Six Handed championship.

For Woods, the field of 353 players and 3 days of grueling competition was well worth it. He won a stunning 3,431 in prize money and with it the prized WSOP poker bracelet. In his final heads-up in the Limit Hold’em/Six Handed event, he went toe-to-toe against female poker ace, Kim Nguyen.

Woods’ momentum pushed him over the line and within 90 minutes into the heads-up contest that the final hand got underway. While Kim Nguyen raised on the bottom, Darren Woods re-raised. When Nguyen went all-in, Woods called. It was Kim’s Ks, 2c against Woods’ 4h, 2h.

What happened next was poker magic for Team 888poker. The flop Kh, 4d, 6s & Js, but the river was a 4c and Woods was rolling. A trip secured the pot for Woods and relegated Nguyen back to the drawing board.

While the WSOP 2011 has a ways to go yet, all signs are positive that Team 888poker will rack up many more victories. Perhaps a shot at poker superstardom is on the cards with the WSOP 2011 Championship – but for that we may have to wait for poker ace & Team 888poker Captain, Shane Warne to join the field on the 9th July 2011.
